Peter Robinson heads the Complex Systems Group, in the School of Physics at Sydney University. The Complex Systems Group draws together researchers with interests in complex natural or artifical systems, including multiscale dynamics and emergent phenomena. Its interests range from theoretical and computational work, including development of new areas of theoretical and mathematical physics and new computational methods, to observation, experiment, and industry links. Broadly, the main areas of interest are Brain Dynamics and Computational Neuroscience, Plasmas, and Space and Solar Physics. Other interests include complex networks, critical phenomena, statistical physics, signal analysis, and biological physics. The CSG is a node of the Center for Integrated Research and Understanding of Sleep (an NHMRC Center for Clinical Research Excellence) and the Brain Dynamics Center, and houses the Center for Waves and Complex Systems.
